Safety Officer SACPCMP REGISTERED Cape Town | Electrical Contractor

A well-established electrical contractor is seeking an experienced and suitably qualified Safety Officer to join their team and oversee health and safety compliance across electrical construction projects in Cape Town.

REQUIREMENTS

• SACPCMP registration as a Safety Officer is essential
• Relevant Health & Safety qualification
• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in construction health & safety
• Experience within the electrical contracting / electrical construction environment will be highly advantageous
• Strong knowledge of the OHS Act, Construction Regulations and related legislation
• Experience conducting site inspections, audits and risk assessments
• Ability to compile and maintain Health & Safety files
• Incident investigation and reporting experience
• Strong understanding of HIRA, Method Statements and Safe Work Procedures
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and engage confidently with site teams, management and clients
• Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Implement and monitor the company’s Health & Safety policies and procedures
• Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits
• Ensure compliance with statutory and client-specific safety requirements
• Maintain comprehensive Health & Safety files
• Conduct risk assessments and monitor corrective actions
• Facilitate toolbox talks and safety meetings
• Investigate incidents and recommend preventative measures
• Monitor subcontractor and employee compliance
• Provide safety guidance to project and site management
• Ensure all documentation remains current and compliant
