An international client of ours based in Mauritania, North-West Africa is looking for an experienced Construction Department Manager to lead their team.
Location: Nouakchott, Mauritania, North West Africa
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related
- Certificate in Project Management (PMP, Prince2 or equivalent)
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction project management, with atleast 5 years in senior leadership roles
- Proven track record of managing complex construction projects and improving departmental operations
- Interest and willingness to work in Africa
- Strong knowledge of international construction standards and best practices
- Experience in developing and implementing construction procedures and training programs
Responsibilities:
- Lead the complete reorganization and optimization of the construction department
- Develop and implement comprehensive construction management procedures and standards
- Design and deliver training programs for local staff to ensure knowledge transfer
- Establish project management frameworks and quality control systems
- Oversee resource allocation and department structuring
- Implement reporting systems and performance metrics
- Mentor and develop local team members to ensure sustainable operations
