An international client of ours based in Mauritania, North-West Africa is looking for an experienced Construction Department Manager to lead their team.

Location: 
Nouakchott, Mauritania, North West Africa

Requirements: 

• Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related
• Certificate in Project Management (PMP, Prince2 or equivalent)
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction project management, with atleast 5 years in senior leadership roles
• Proven track record of managing complex construction projects and improving departmental operations 
• Interest and willingness to work in Africa
• Strong knowledge of international construction standards and best practices 
• Experience in developing and implementing construction procedures and training programs

Responsibilities: 

• Lead the complete reorganization and optimization of the construction department
• Develop and implement comprehensive construction management procedures and standards
• Design and deliver training programs for local staff to ensure knowledge transfer
• Establish project management frameworks and quality control systems
• Oversee resource allocation and department structuring
• Implement reporting systems and performance metrics 
• Mentor and develop local team members to ensure sustainable operations
