Overberg District: Grabouw / Botrivier:  A renowned and much-loved farm stall and tourist stop in the Elgin Valley is looking for a budding Baker to join their Bakery Team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who loves baking, has a genuine interest in developing their skills and is keen to grow within a bakery environment. You will assist the Baker with the daily preparation of homemade-style sweet treats and pastries for the farm stall and deli

Note that consideration will only be given to applicants who have experience in an equal role industry and who are currently resident in Grabouw or Botrivier

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assisting with the daily preparation and baking of sweet treats and pastries
• Following recipes and maintaining good quality and consistency
• Preparing ingredients and assisting with pastry and baking production
• Keeping the bakery area clean and hygienic
• Learning new baking techniques and products
• Supporting the Baker and wider team with daily production

CRITERIA

• Must reside in Grabouw or Botrivier – transport is provided from these areas
• Grade 12 required, with good comprehension and numeracy skills
• Genuine passion for baking and willingness to learn
• Some baking experience or practical baking knowledge advantageous
• Reliable, hardworking and positive
• Good hygiene and food-safety awareness
• Must be willing to work weekends and public holidays as required
• Fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans (read, write and speak)
• Be willing to work weekends according to the company’s rotating roster
