An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and highly skilled Senior Laboratory Technician (Assaying) to join a growing gold mining operation in Libya. We are seeking a laboratory professional with extensive metallurgical assaying experience, strong technical expertise, and a passion for quality, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
Candidates MUST be from a gold mining background and preference will be given to those candidates that have worked on rotation previously.

Job Purpose
Reporting directly to Management, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity of laboratory operations, maintaining quality standards, and delivering accurate analytical results that support operational and production decision-making.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Experience in chemical analysis and laboratory procedures, with a strong focus on quality control and safety.
  • Conduct sample testing, fire-assay, and wet chemical analyses.
  • Operate laboratory equipment including AAS, XRF, ICP, UV-Vis, Fusion and Muffle Furnaces.
  • Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments, ensuring they are calibrated and functioning correctly.
  • Manage laboratory inventory, consumables, and supplier inspections.
  • Maintain laboratory cleanliness and safety.
  • Record and analyze data, preparing reports on findings for management.
What We're Looking For
Essential Requirements
  • Degree in Metallurgical Assaying, Analytical Chemistry or equivalent.
  • Minimum of six years of industrial work experience working in metallurgical assaying laboratories.
  • Experience of fire assaying techniques a prerequisite.
  • In-depth knowledge of analysis of samples by XRF, AAS, and ICP
  • Knowledge of ISO:17025 QMS implementation.
