Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Snr Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Qatar. The successful candidate will be responsible for Mechanical Engineering duties, including reviewing defect cards, work orders, resource assessments, and maintenance activities. Additionally, budget monitoring, policy implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives are key aspects of this role.
Desalination or Water Treatment and Power Plant experience essential.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Mechanical Engineering:
    • Review and assess defect cards, work orders, and resource requirements.
    • Receive work permits and organize resources for planned maintenance tasks.
    • Assist in preparing maintenance activity scopes and risk assessments.
    • Identify spare parts requirements and suggest inventory levels.
    • Execute planned inspections, overhauls, and breakdown maintenance.
    • Mobilize manpower, equipment, and tools on-site for permitted works.
    • Conduct daily toolbox talks and maintain safety standards.
    • Report on work progress, issues, and resource needs.
    • Assist in diagnosing faults in plant machinery.
    • Provide technical training to staff and Qatari nationals.
    • Inspect spare parts and aid in developing machine parts.
  • Budgeting and Financial Performance:
    • Monitor financial performance versus budgets and report variances.
  • Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures:
    • Implement policies, systems, and procedures for operational compliance.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify improvement opportunities in systems, processes, and practices.
  • Reporting:
    • Prepare accurate and timely reports to meet department requirements.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: BEng in Mechanical Engineering or relevant field.
  • Skills: Mechanical Maintenance, Reliability Engineering, Technical Training, Planning & Breakdown Maintenance, Budgeting & Financial Performance.
