Opportunity Available!! Our leading client in the Automotive Sector is looking to employ a Quality Engineer to join their dynamic team in Gqeberha/ Port Elizabeth.
Job Description: 

  • Maintain the Quality Project Tracker through the updating of status based on project evidence and escalate all potential risks to project milestones.
  • Escalate all potential project risk related to milestones and customer requirements.
  • Attend all project meetings- daily and weekly and co-ordinate Quality Department tasks.
  • Support with the development of technical (SC/CC, Major Point Lists) agreements for approval by customers.
  • Support Metrologist with the mark-up of drawings
  • Support with the evaluation and feasibility of part tolerance through review of current similar processes.
  • Ensure implementation of lessons learned into process development.
  • Update all project lessons learned to the plant lesson learned database.
  • Manage all deviations of components.
  • Co-ordinate all changes in the supply chain through the Change Management tracker, ECR/PCR register and issuing of Engineering Change notices.
  • Develop or co-ordinate development and collection of all Quality related PPAP documentation: Process Flow, FMEA and Control Plans, off Tool sample sheets, MSA, Drawings, Material certificates, Initial capability studies, Quality laboratory documentation, CSR’s- CQI’s as per PPAP checklist requirements.
  • Tracking of all changes to ensure adherence to ECR/PCR checklist requirements.
  • Support PPAP runs with project team and customer.
  • Co-ordinate Checking fixture design approvals (FGAR’s) with the customer as well as gauge instructions, calibration and MSA activities.
  • Co-ordinate Safe Launch and production handover processes.
  • Supplier PPAP documentation review and sign off:
  • Process Flow, FMEA and Control Plans, off Tool sample sheets, MSA, Drawings, Material certificates, Initial capability studies, Quality laboratory documentation, CSR’s- CQI’s and any other additional requirements as per PPAP  checklist requirements.
  • Ensure proper recording of all data required for quality performance indicators.
  • Update and maintain the SC/CC list
  • Manage and co-ordinate core tool review through the scheduling of reviews, performing reverse FMEA’s and ensuring customer concerns and improvements are coordinated through the Core Tools Actions list
  • Compile weekly, monthly graphs.
  • Analyse and implement corrective/preventative action to maintain and improve all KPI’s.

Job Requirements: 

  • National Diploma: Quality or National Diploma in Engineering/Operations Management or studying toward completion 
  • B-Tech Quality (Advantageous) 
  • City & Guilds or studying toward completion 
  • Computer literate (Intermediate to Advanced MS-Office skills) 
  • Core tools Certification (Essential) 
  • Manufacturing process knowledge coupled with mechanical and technical logic. 
  • Read and understand technical drawings and/or plans. 
  • 3+ years’ experience in quality in an automotive environment 
  • 2+ years’ experience in implementing and auditing quality system within an automotive environment.

  • Report any unsafe act and/or condition to HSEE Co-Ordinator.
