A remote safari camp in Kenya's Laikipia region is looking for an experienced ASSISTANT FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT to manage the property's full financial and stock control function
This is a hands-on role for someone who's comfortable working independently in a remote camp setting, managing accounts staff, and keeping tight financial discipline across a busy lodge operation. You'll be the go-to person for everything from ledger queries to payroll compliance, so strong technical skills and a steady head under pressure both matter here.

Core Criteria:
  • CPA III qualification
  • Bachelor of Commerce degree
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in accounting, including inventory management
  • Completion of an Excel assessment at interview stage
  • Strong working knowledge of general ledger reconciliation and management accounts
  • Experience training and mentoring junior accounts staff
  • Familiarity with statutory and compliance audits (health and safety, environmental, motor, and similar)
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a remote setting
Core Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage all financial and stock controls for the property
  • Manage, mentor, and train the accounts and stores team
  • Reconcile accounts, including clearing accounts and inter-property transactions
  • Interpret and analyse management accounts, reporting to the Financial Controller
  • Process accounts payable and receivable in line with group policy
  • Reconcile supplier statements and review local creditor payments
  • Compile and submit weekly cash flow requirements to head office
  • Prepare monthly payroll input, ensuring compliance with employment legislation
  • Manage capex reporting against budget
  • Assist with budgeting, quarterly forecasts, and year-end audits
  • Conduct internal audits and monitor internal controls
  • Coordinate statutory and licence renewals with relevant authorities
  • Oversee IT system uptime for the camp, escalating issues as needed
  • Compile monthly leave schedules and physical stock counts
