Our client, a reputable leader in the industrial power tools, automation and instrumentation sector, is seeking a qualified, skilled and experienced Field Service Technician to join their dynamic team based in Boksburg. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically strong individual who enjoys hands-on technical work, problem-solving, and supporting clients on-site with advanced machinery and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, maintain, and repair industrial power tools, automation systems, and instrumentation equipment.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical, PLC, and instrumentation faults.
- Configure, update, and optimise systems using PLC software.
- Conduct calibrations and testing of instrumentation devices and sensors.
- Provide technical support and training to clients on equipment functionality and safe operation.
- Perform routine inspections to ensure system performance, accuracy, and compliance.
- Complete service reports, maintenance documentation, and job cards accurately.
- Collaborate with internal technical teams to resolve advanced system issues.
- Local and international travel for installations, commissioning, and client support.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12 Essential
- A Degree in Electronic, Robotics or Mechatronics engineering
- PLC Programming is essential.
- 2–3 years proven experience as a Field Service Technician in the automation environment.
- Valid Driver’s Licence
- Valid Passport (for travel requirements)
- Good mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic skills
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
- Ability to work independently and manage field schedules
