We are seeking a recent graduate who has completed a BSc Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Sciences, or a related field to join our client’s team for an 18-month SHEQ Graduate Internship Programme. This opportunity is ideal for a motivated graduate looking to gain practical workplace experience within Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality processes in a professional working environment.
The successful candidate will gain exposure to SHEQ administration, compliance processes, inspections, reporting, and overall operational support while working alongside experienced professionals within the industry.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with SHEQ administrative functions and documentation.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of SHEQ policies and procedures.
- Assist with safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
- Help ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
- Maintain SHEQ records, reports, and incident documentation.
- Assist with toolbox talks, safety meetings, and staff awareness initiatives.
- Support environmental and quality management processes.
- Monitor and report on workplace hazards and non-conformances.
- Assist with incident investigations and corrective action follow-ups.
- Ensure that SHEQ files and compliance documents are kept up to date.
Requirements
- Completed BSc Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a BSc in Environmental Sciences.
- SAMTRAC certificate will be advantageous.
- Recently graduated and seeking workplace experience
- Strong administrative and organisational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
