An international engineering company based in Gauteng requires the above.
Minimum requirements for the role: 
  • A Degree or Diploma in a relevant Technical Sales discipline is essential.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ Management experience in a similar role within the Mining or Crushing and Comminution environment.
  • Proven track record in Sales Management as well as managerial experience is essential.
  • Proven budgeting and financial modelling experience essential.
  • The candidate must have knowledge of the Mining and Minerals Processing industry and market.
  • Must have knowledge of competitors, products and technology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and report writing skills are essential.
  • Advanced computer literacy is essential.
  • Must have mentorship and motivation skills.
  • Time management as well as stress management skills are essential.
  • A valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport are essential.

 The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Developing existing and new products to maintain the company’s competitive advantage within the market.
  • Identifying opportunities for potential business within the assigned markets.
  • Developing client solutions for identified opportunities, including flow sheets, product selection and plant designs.
  • Drafting proposals as well as coordinating any tests required to meet client needs.
  • Negotiating contract terms and conditions to reduce risk as well as maximise profitability for the company.
  • Managing the contract process and effective hand-over of capital equipment orders to Project Management.
  • Designing business models for applications of products.
  • Managing resources of the department and reporting on actual progress versus plan (both strategic plans and budget).
  • Maintaining and updating all sales and pricings reports on a regular basis.
  • Controlling expenses to meet budget guidelines.
  • Attending to and resolving customer queries.
  • Liaising with customers and advising on appropriate products and equipment offered by the company to meet the customer’s needs.
  • Providing ongoing support and training to direct and indirect Sales/Service staff.
  • Attending and interacting with relevant industries associations.
  • Defining and managing the sales process to ensure that the clients’ needs are matched to the company’s capabilities and product benefits.
  • Training, developing and mentoring of subordinate staff as required.
  • Assisting in Performance Appraisals for all relevant staff members.
  • Managing work allocation and number of resources aligned with work flow and departmental objectives.
  • Participating in setting the sales budget and maintaining forecasts.
  • Overseeing prospect reporting and sales activity planning.
  • Following quality measures in terms of ISO 9001:2008 procedures as well as the company’s processes and policies.
