Our client in the metals industry in Saudi Arabia is looking for a Senior Electrical Technician, focusing on maintenance of equipment, for a 1-year renewable contract.
Requirements:
  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering
  • 10 years experience in a relevant industry or business, preferably in Green Mill and/or Anode Baking Furnaces
  • The position requires strong analytical, problem-solving skills. In addition to the above-mentioned success factors the incumbent must have demonstrated computer skills, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Oracle.
Key responsibilities:
  • Carrying out routine maintenance and repairs on Ingot casters, Holding and Melting furnaces, Furnace metal siphon systems, Vertical DC casting facility for slab and billet, homogenizing and sawing, TAC and SKIM facility etc.
  • Attend all breakdown jobs and completing with Safety and minimum delay.’
  • Work proactively to ensure EHS. In case of accidents / events with or without injury and / or equipment breakdown, act promptly to resolve the situation, take temporary and permanent solutions to avoid repetition of this kind of situation. Ensure all required communication with appropriate resources.
  • Participate actively in daily shift meetings, share information, and define daily working orientations regarding process specificities.
  • Participate in plant, department, and team meetings.
  • Contributes to team development and colleague training (in class and/ or on-the-job training) Participate and collaborate in any other required activities for the process effectiveness, quality and improvement.
  • Diagnosis and rectification of faults.
  • Sound Knowledge and working expertise in industrial hydraulics and pneumatics, bearings, gearboxes, overhead cranes etc.
  • Sound knowledge and working experience in liquid metal siphoning systems.
  • Sound knowledge on gas fired furnaces combustion system.
  • Ensuring appropriate Shift Report is made, all job Work Order Closed, defective forms and service sheets are completed in a timely manner, be part of Shift, a call out Rota and ability to work under pressure.
  • Must be analytical and possess excellent troubleshooting skills – contribute to continual improvement.
  • Manage Work Orders in Oracle system according to Client defined work processes.
  • Actively participate in Client continual improvement process (Suggestions, DI etc.)
  • Ensure LTV and PTW systems are complied with in the department.
  • Write and review equipment SWI’s.
  • Sound knowledge on FMEA, Criticality analysis
  • Mentor and coach technicians, new recruits.
  • Act as Maintenance supervisor/ Engineer when required
